I’ll wrap up this month with two live electric recordings, made one right after the other on Sunday morning. This first performance has a few anomalies in the transitions between textures and elements – a result of a dial accidentally moving when I was changing another dial with my foot.
As Robert Creeley famous declared: “form is never more than an extension of content.” If I’ve achieved my aim, I have created a piece with no content, just form. These ideas are composed, and are organic. They’re improvised, but sort of planned. If the content is absent, then form is as well, although it isn’t.
